Whats with the twilight saga?
I`m just wondering what makes the story so apealing! Today are teacher asked for our favourite books and half the girls said Twilight, I said Harry Potter and got dirty looks and snickers! Whats the point of twilight? I never carred for it, but honestly why do so many people like it?
I’m sure it’s because of what Edward and Bella have with each other. Edward is always there to protect Bella when she is in danger and he is trying to let her live her life before being a vampire. Stephanie Meyer’s writing probably adds on to the affect too because she writes very descriptively and really gets you into the story. Also girls probably wish that Edward was real so they could have them and reading about him makes him more real then just thinking about him and in the book Stephenie makes him sound outstandingly hot.

They like twilight because of the romantic feel in it. Edward Cullen is a vampire who basically falls in love with Bella. People probably like his overprotective nature. In Eclipse, he fights over Bella. Not only that, but people seem to be into vampires too. The manga Vampire Knight was number one at onemanga.com for a time.

You’re obviously an LJ Smith fan, you should know the pull of the vampire craze now. It’s just part of our pop culture. The books really are pretty good, they deal with wanting and urges that are hard to meet. Much like growing up.

It appeals in my opinion to a fantasy among girls. See Bella is unique in the fact that Edward (the vampire) can read everyone’s thoughts but hers(as well as the fact that she appears to smell particularly tasty to Edward). This feeling of being special and to have someone so devoted he would die for you creates a romantic feel to these novels that appeal. Females love romance why else are romance novels a dime a barrel. I’m just guessing my friends seem to think its fantastic but I don’t.

Just to get this across before I answer: I LOVE BOTH HARRY POTTER AND TWILIGHT VERY MUCH! SOME HARRY POTTER BOOKS ARE BETTER THAN SOME BOOKS IN THE TWILIGHT SAGA AND VICE VERSA! I like twilight because 1 the plot is great, 2 the characters are really fantastic (especially alice and the other members of the Cullen family) and 3 there are always small things happenning that are hilarious! (like nearly everything alice does!) I could say the same thing about harry potter though. THEY ARE BOTH AWESOME! they are very different, and they can kinda coexist. I can respect that twilight might not be for you, but I love it. I am SUPER excited for new moon, even tho it was my 4th favorite in the twilight saga, and i will probably be even more insane when Deathly Hallows 1 comes out!!! (2nd fave harry potter book. 1/2 blood prince is my fave!)

To be honest… I have no idea… I guess its the romance but to be honest I personally think some girls just say they do to fit in, its kind of like a fad. Hopefully it’ll soon pass.

well, it may be because a vampire falls in love with a human and a human falls in love with a vampire. The story is good. but alot people tend to like it now because they say that Rob Pattinson (Edward in the movies) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob in the movies) are hot. the movie itself was good but if you see the book and the movie it isnt good. they just dont match up. They left so much out. But i prefer other vampire books over twilight. BUt it is appealing because of the romance, the danger,mystery, and the urges all rolled in one.
